Ever wonder why our bodies sweat? Or maybe you wish you could skip sweat all to gether and just live a stink-free existence. Fun fact – sweating and stink aren’t the same thing. Sweating means your body is healthy, functioning, and thriving. Here’s everything you need to know about the benefits of sweating and how to stay healthy and stay sweaty without stinking up the sauna.

Why is sweating good for me?

Ready for science class? Let’s get it all on the table.

Humans are warm-blooded mammals, meaning that we rely on our body’s internal systems to keep our temperature at a balmy 98 degrees. Receptors on our skin sense the temperature of the air then tell the hypothalamus that we’re about to overheat. The hypothalamus prompts the sweat glands to start working, and voila, we produce sweat. As sweat evaporates off the skin, the body cools down. Sweat inherently doesn’t stink and, in fact, it’s a signal that your body is working just as it should.

Sweat does all these awesome things without us having to lift a finger:

•  Releases toxins
•  Cools body quickly and efficiently
•  Because sweat contains urea (a natural moisturizing factor made in the body), sweat actually hydrates the skin and improves its texture.
•  Eliminates excess salt from the body, decreasing our risk of kidney stones
•  Encourages us to drink more water

What does body odor come from?

There’s a mistaken belief that sweat and body odor go together, but that’s not the whole truth. Our skin houses millions of bacteria on its surface and certain strains of bacteria consume proteins released in our sweat, then excrete it back out, causing body odor.

Treat the problem, not the symptoms.

Conventional antiperspirants and aluminum-based deodorants plug our pores with aluminum salts so that sweat ducts are no longer producing sweat. This lack of sweat means the bacteria in your pits have nothing to feed on, ergo no sweat, no stink.

Because the personal care and beauty industry convinced us all that sweating from our armpits is a problem, we now resort to exposing our skin and body to harmful, toxic chemicals. But what if there was another way?

We’re not sorry for sweating any more.

Your body is good and healthy because it sweats. *Mic drop*. It’s working hard for you, so that you can explore, play, and soak up this beautiful place we get to call home.

At Pit Liquor, we believe that all humans were born to sweat, but they don’t have to smell stinky. Our overproof alcohol-based formula kills the bacteria responsible for stink, but it doesn’t clog your pores or block your sweat glands from doing their thing. Pit Liquor’s all natural formula is made with five simple ingredients, including sweet-smelling essential oils, that treat your armpits kindly.

So get out there and celebrate your body’s natural sweat. While you’re at it, toss that aluminum deodorant in the can and pick up some Pit Liquor. Your underarms will thank you.

I gave up the perspiration battle years ago & am so much better off for it. Have used a variety of ‘natural deodorants’, some which only needed to be applied weekly. Formulas changed. The search began in earnest after breast cancer. I fell in love with the 1st spray (Pear & Cardamom) that I bought from you. Struggled with the lovely but hard to use bottle. Also, forgot how important shaking bottle was so no white residue sat on bottom. Tried other ‘flavors’ and the preferred roll-on bottle. Really like your more small hand friendly spray bottle. I apply Pit Liquor in the morning, and again before bed. Absolutely love it and have a number of favorites, though always curious about a new offering. Good job! 👍✨

Best Antiperspirant for Excessive Sweating said:

It’s obvious for us to sweat. It is a fundamental body function. Sweating is the major way our body regulates its temperature. Water is released through glands in the skin, evaporates off the skin and the body is cooled. During exercise, muscles heat up more, so more sweat is needed. Cooling is the major function of sweating. Without it, our body could not release excess heat and we would die. But to stop excessive sweating (https://stopsweatfix.com/) and odor issues, one must use antiperspirants which are safe and a better way to cope with this.
